Settled in the Maritimes of Canada, surrounded by the forest and Acadian Mountain Chain, I live a simple life of gratitude. This blog is a journal of my art, food, furkids, garden, home, my life and my thoughts. Thanks for reading!

π¨For our π¨ Art Date π¨, today's optional prompt is Hats! Please feel free to share any art you've created, we would love to see it! Bugs Bunny is showing off his ten-gallon hat this week! Instead of a gun in his holster, he had a carrot!
⬆️⬆️ This prompt is right up my alley! I can't even imagine not wearing a hat anymore!
⬆️⬆️ Here is my Cat in the Hat!
⬆️⬆️ I also drew a top hat inspired by Fred Astaire!
⬆️⬆️ Jack continues to be stable!
⬆️⬆️ πFor our π Dinner Date π, I made a pizza hat!!

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art and Dinner Date! ππ
π¨For our π¨ Art Date π¨, today's optional prompt is Embossed! Please feel free to share any art you've created, we would love to see it! I KNOW this was a toughie my friends! And I seriously was wondering what I was thinking when I came up with this prompt lol...I write all the art prompts for the coming year in November and they surprise me just as much as they surprise you!! ☺
So, one of the definitions of embossed is "decorated with a design that stands out in relief"...I tried to do foil embossing art and it just didn't work out so I opted for some 3D trick art! Tweety seems to be popping out of the page!
⬆️⬆️They look guilty of something! Jack is still doing very well my friends! Always happy to report that! ♥
LOTS OF BIRDS!!!
Chickadee - don't worry he landed on top of the trail cam, didn't fly into it!
Blue Jays
Grackle Fight! (Kind of Matrix-y isn't it?)
Hairy Woodpecker, Grackle and some Mourning Doves (I'm sure it's a Hairy because I've seen this fella all week and he has quite a long bill!)
πFor our π Dinner Date π, I had fun in the kitchen in the last week! I made some of my French Baguettes.
⬆️⬆️ And we need to dip those baguettes into something don't we? How about some Marinara Sauce! After this is all cooked, I blend it so it's nice and smooth - perfect for bread dippin'!

π¨For our π¨ Art Date π¨, today's optional prompt is Twisted! Please feel free to share any art you've created, we would love to see it! Bugs is enjoying a carrot martini with a twist of lime!
Comments: I counted 79 comments that I posted on Wednesday morning and I didn't get that message. I know I left a lot less comments on Blogs last week, so who really knows why I got shut down like that!
⬆️⬆️ I also painted a watercolor seahorse with a little twisted tail! I was just playing around with dots!
CALLING ALL BIRDING FRIENDS!!!
⬆️⬆️ I got some nice photos from the trail cam. I've been trying to distinguish Ravens from Crows. I consulted my birding book and I'm a little confused about the tail feather shape. According to my book's drawings, they really look like Ravens...but they don't seem to have the shagginess of a Raven. Are these American Crows?
⬆️⬆️ This is the heartbreaking scene I see any time I leave the house! Oh the guilt lol!!! Jack is still stable!!

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art and Dinner Date! ππ
π¨For our π¨ Art Date π¨, today's optional prompt is Library! Please feel free to share any art you've created, we would love to see it! Tweety Bird is enjoying a quiet morning reading at his local library. I wish I had time to read more!!!
⬆️⬆️This annoys me to no end...I finally have a morning to visit blogs and I'm SHUT DOWN. Grrr.
⬆️⬆️ Tweety isn't the only bird in this post! I got the trailcam set up in the back again! We have Mourning Doves - and friends, is that a Purple Finch?
⬆️⬆️Grackles (TB your favourite! ππ)
⬆️⬆️Tough guy Grackle puffing up!!!
⬆️⬆️Here's a short video showing the Grackles and Red-Winged Blackbirds. I filmed it from my window because the slightest movement has them all flying off!
⬆️⬆️Evening Grosbeak with a Red-Winged Blackbird
⬆️⬆️ Raven and Jack. Jack's monthly vet visit was good! He is still wheezing, but his breathing has not gotten worse, so (fingers crossed!) the tumour hasn't grown in the last month! ☺☺☺
πFor our π Dinner Date π, I made a very simple pasta dish: Pasta Aglio e Olio - Italian for Pasta with garlic and olive oil. A whole bulb of roasted garlic went into this, with some olive oil, parsley and a little salt. With red pepper flakes (I omitted that) and Parmesan cheese (I didn't have any), it's the authentic recipe. I did add a splash of white wine though, it was so good! And you'd think the garlic would overwhelm but it didn't due to the roasting! I'll share the recipe soon, I haven't had a chance to write it all down!
⬆️⬆️Speaking of garlic, the bulbs I planted in the fall are popping up!!!
