Settled in the Maritimes of Canada, surrounded by the forest and Acadian Mountain Chain, I live a simple life of gratitude. This blog is a journal of my art, food, furkids, garden, home, my life and my thoughts. Thanks for reading!
Welcome to Thursday's Art Date! Today our theme is December Holidays: Christmas Present. Bugs Bunny is relaxing by the Christmas tree, opening Holiday cards. He just received a very special one from a good friend!
I decided to go with a landscape drawing this week for Christmas Present. This charcoal drawing describes my life in the present on my land! The full moon is in a few days, I live in the woods and I hear coyotes howling every night and every morning!
I published a real-time video of this tutorial if you'd like to try it out! Click the image above or this link.
My latest Spiritual Rain video is up on YouTube as well. I made my annual Ice Lanterns for Yule. They are so easy to make and I wanted to share that with my friends in this video. Problem is, we are having a wee bit of a mild spell and they have nearly melted already!!! I'll have to make some more when the weather is a bit colder!
Last Friday we had our annual Tree Trimming day and breakfast! We went with an artificial tree this year. After transplanting and caring for over 25 trees last fall, we didn't have the heart to chop one down!
I made a yummy Egg Nog. I also tried an Eggless Egg Nog and I have to say, it tasted SO MUCH like the real stuff, I'm hooked! Of course this was "sweetened" with a little rum and brandy!
I also made Alex's Grandma's "Toasettes"...that's toast with Homemade Cheez Whiz, an egg or two, all baked in the oven. So delicious!
In between heavy meals (like this cheese fondue!), we've been trying to eat light, and some days just some fruit smoothies to try to ward off the holiday weight gain!! (The key word here is TRY David...but trust me those snowshoes will be out as soon as we get some snow again!! 😀)
Baby Oscar had to visit the vet this week, he has an ear infection in both ears, sigh...he'll be okay in a few days! The other furries are all doing fine!
🔥🌙 Wishing you all a BLESSED YULE!! 🌙🔥

I just wanted to let you know that Thursday Art Date With Rain will continue every Thursday but the publish time will be later on in the day. I used to have the post ready to be published on Wednesday afternoons and I published them just after midnight on Thursdays.
Now that I'm taking courses, it clashes with the time I used to have to prepare the post and my drawings. From now on, the TAD posts will be published Thursday afternoons/evenings (Atlantic Canada Time)!
And please forgive me if I haven't visited your blogs yet, it WILL happen very soon! ♥♥♥
Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is December Holidays: Christmas Past. Porky Pig is a big fan of Norman Rockwell paintings and he wanted to recreate "Christmas Wreath". This is a lovely painting, that for me, represents Christmas Past.
Another Christmas Past memory..."White Christmas" by Bing Crosby (drawn with ink, graphite and a red colouring pencil). This is the image of Bing on that album cover. I listen to his holiday music every year, he has such a mellow voice! Louis Armstrong once said : "Bing Crosby's voice was like gold being poured out of a cup."
Here are my two latest art tutorials! (I'm playing around with new thumbnails, the YouTube Optimization course is teaching me lots of great stuff!) Friends, if you watch YT, do you prefer thumbnails that are a little different every time, or those that remain pretty much the same? Also, do you read the title of the video or do you mainly click on the thumbnail? Thanks for the feedback!! ♥♥
The snow has melted, and I guess I am dreaming of a white Christmas, because we are due to have rain over the weekend - and lots of it. UGH! My hope to have my roof replaced before the end of the year has become a slim chance if at all...I'll have to wait until the spring. I hope it holds out for another winter! I'm keeping very busy my Friends, my courses are going well! I'm playing catch-up again! ♥
I hope you are all safe, healthy and happy!
Today's featured Blogger is my friend Mary from A Breath Of Fresh Air blog. Mary is such a wonderful lady. She's a "transplanted Brit" who has been all over the world and she shares her photos and stories. She also has a lovely garden and home and shares that as well. The photo above is one she took yesterday in her garden in North Carolina. Please visit her blog!!

Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is December Holidays: Gingerbread. It was Bugs Bunny's idea to dress up as a Gingerbread Man, I think he got inspired by watching Gingy from the movie Shrek!
Thank you everyone for all of your wonderful comments last week! ♥♥♥♥
I've been reading from my Brother's Grimm Folk and Fairy Tale book lately and I got inspired to draw this Gingerbread House from reading Hansel and Gretel.
Here is my Looney Tune drawing for last week's "Stripes"...Granny loves Tweety so much, look at the length of that scarf, it should keep him nice and warm this winter!! *** By the way folks, if you miss an art date and would still like to participate, feel free to add your link below, even if it's a week late, we want to see your creations!!! ***
Another "Stripes" drawing - 3D art, this is so much fun to do!
I've been really busy making videos lately! Here are all of the latest Rain Frances Art YouTube videos.
Winter has arrived! I'm beginning my hibernation! I started taking 3 home-study courses and I hope to learn a lot during this season! I'm taking a Tarot 101 course, an Introduction to Psychology course and a course on how to optimize your YouTube channel. Lots of fun stuff!
Not only am I beginning my winter hibernation, I'm starting to gain my winter weight lol...I was doing a LOT of "baking therapy" lately (too much!) and I had a cookie day:
Homemade Chili (I used my old Chili Recipe and omitted the meat, added carrots and cumin)
Last week I kept reading about the American Thanksgiving and I got a HUGE craving for Thanksgiving comfort food...so I did it, I made Thanksgiving dinner again!! Bread Stuffing, Cauliflower Gratin, mashed taters, Chicken Gravy and mashed carrots! We had 3 days of leftovers!
We opened a nice California Cab, very fruity!
I'm still on my quest to make the BEST toaster oven pizza...this one was made with Semolina flour, not a fan...next up is "0:0" Italian flour!
Creamy Turkey Bake with Broccoli and Mushrooms (photo courtesy of Jan and Eddie)
I hope you're all doing well and you are happy and healthy my friends, take care out there!! Today's featured Bloggers are Jan and Eddie from The Low Carb Diabetic blog. Jan and Eddie offer lots of delicious low carb recipes and lots of information about diabetes and nutrition. I love their blog, please visit them! 💗
