My Friends, I dedicated today to visiting blogs and commenting. I got to comment on maybe 20 blogs, then I got this - Jenn this actually popped up on your blog when I was trying to comment about the porcupine!!!
"You have created the maximum number of comments for today, please try again tomorrow"??????
So frustrating!
More comment issues: My friend Leigh blogged about this and it's worth mentioning again. If you have your comments set to "embedded"...there are always problems. Just wanted to mention that! Please know that I've visited your blogs, but can't comment now!!! I used to visit more than 100 blogs each week and this is a first, Blogger please get your act together!!!
This is crazy.
ReplyDelete"Maximum number of comments today" -- WTF is that? Is that Blogger's "new" way of controlling spambot comments? If so, it sucks!
ReplyDeleteHiss and spit. I really, really wish that blogger would get its act together. And yes, while I have them, embedded comments add a whole new level of complexity.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your issue dear. Don't let it dim your joy. Often these things right themselves.
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating for you! I didn't think Blogger had a limit on daily comments. Are they trying to cut down on Spammers, I wonder? I use Embedded Comments and don't seem to have any worse issues than other comment formats do. A while back, I had trouble commenting on friends' blogs no matter what comment format they used. My comments just wouldn't publish when I hit the button. It was a temporary Blogger glitch thankfully which I hope will be the case for you here.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that Blogger glitches a lot nowadays. It won't allow me to make any changes to my Blog List in my sidebar which is so frustrating. As much as I love Blogger, it might soon be time to look for another blog platform.
I've never heard of this. It is ridiculous and very frustrating to read this. I am simply blown away, since I was also trying to play catch uo today, too.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I had trouble leaving messages on Jenn's and a few other blogs this past week.
...Blogger can drive you to drink!
ReplyDeletethey have been messing with the comments for sure as they act different when you want to comment. I don't like the comments being in another screen instead of under the blog post-because one can not reply back under those comments.
ReplyDeleteSerena, I'm watching a WordPress tutorial as I type this!
ReplyDeleteTom, cheers! LOL!
Welcome to the club! I will check out that embedded thing thanks
ReplyDeleteBlogger does seem to have glitches and changes from time to time, but I've not seen this one before!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
that is so freaking weird. why would they limit your number of comments!
ReplyDeleteRain, it at least comforts me that all of a sudden I am not the only person with this problem.
ReplyDeletePerhaps someone at Blogger could undo this inconvenience?
Since I have blogger I am frustrated. I have my comments embedded because People complained they needed to be able to go back and remember some things on my posts. The only other option I have is to have the comments t box open in a new window covering up the blog post. The main issue I am having now is people are posting as anonymous and have to sign their name so I know who is commenting. I do have comments set where I approve each post before letting it post to my blog due to some very unwanted comments from strangers. Might be time to contact blogger again as I did when we had previous issues.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is a new one. Another friend of mine emailed the other day to say she couldn't comment, but she didn't say exactly what was happening.
ReplyDeleteJust when you think it couldn't get any crazier . . . . .
And it used to work so well. I haven't yet been advised that I have exceeded my limit, but sometimes I just can't get the comment to go through. It becomes a real pain to try to remember which blogs I need to return to to try again, and even then it doesn't always work.
ReplyDeleteThat is a weird message, I have never seen it before. I usually make a lot of comments each day. Sometimes I have to go back and clear out cookies and data. Sorry you are having problems. Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWhat are they doing? I just changed mine to "popup" I think. Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what embedded comments are. I need to check. Send blogger a nastygram on the check mark. Also a screen grab or pic of what you saw commenting. I've had a lot of blogger weirdness in my time but never that one.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, blogger is getting stranger and stranger. now I find that the preview of the first picture along with the link is not appearing (when you send the link to someone)
ReplyDeleteNow, my blogging friends are coming up as, "unknown" Rain try a different browser.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pain! I haven't had this, but I'm sure it is just a matter of time. I am so sorry!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like that message, about the max number of comments. How strange. Commenting on blogs has been different lately...changes by Blogger that made things more difficult.
ReplyDeleteThis is very annoying for you.
ReplyDeleteI do notice that Blogger and Facebook cause a lot of problems.
Greetings Irma
Interesting. I haven't had that issue just yet, but most days I get only 1 or 2 comments on my own blog posts. I noticed a lot of bloggers are not posting as usual either, so I have had less to visit. That is crazy.
ReplyDeleteSeems so many folks are having issues with blogger comments and the comment limit notification is something I have never seen. I am so excited when I get anywhere near 20 comments and so many bloggers get way more so wonder if the notice is going to all. I neither do comment moderation or embedded comments and to date haven't had the issues many have described.
ReplyDeleteI watched the video and what a great solution to watering, which I will share with Grenville for his window ledge indoor herb garden, thanks. Your seeds are doing wonderfully and the poutine looked delicious, Rain. I have tried it a couple of times, but never homemade. It was delicious.
How frustrating. I'm glad I left Blogger long ago. I hope they get it together so dedicated users don't have to deal with blips like that.
