Thursday Art Date: Leaves and Branches And ππ An Announcement Re: Paint Party Friday! ππ
Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art Date (posted on Wednesdays)!! ππ Today our theme is Leaves and Branches! Poor Daffy, all of his hard work is about to be ruined! Bugs Bunny is such a stinker! π
I drew this bear in the woods as a private charcoal drawing lesson for my friend Nik's daughter, Lily. I felt it fit the prompt very well!
And look at 9-year old Lily's!!! She's an aspiring artist!!! (Photo permission by her mom and my friend Nik!) If you know any kids who would love to learn how to draw and paint, please send them over to Rain Frances Art For Kids YouTube Channel! ♥ If your kids or grandkids (nieces/nephews etc) have done my lessons, please feel free to send me photos so I can post them here and on Instagram if you wish! ☺ (rainfrancesartforkids@gmail.com)
Announcement: Many of you have participated in the now defunct Paint Party Friday. This was a weekly blog party where people could post links to their art - and there were no prompts to follow. From now on, TAD will be open to all forms of art. I'll still have the prompts available if you want to be challenged, but they are not needed to participate! If you know any former PPF-ers, can you let them know? Thanks Friends!
I've been busy planting my seeds! 500 of them are now sitting in my window. I did a little video, showing what I did! Gardening season has begun! I hope you are all enjoying good weather. We still have freezing nights, but winter is definitely gone, so I'm doing lots of work outside on my land.
I haven't been doing much cooking lately, but I did make Mushroom Burgers. I forgot to take a photo, here's an old one. These are so good! A great vegetarian alternative!
Of course, every week here has to include a homemade pizza! π I'm linking up with Kathy's Food Wednesday post today!
That's all for now folks! Please check out the link widget below for more artistic creations! See you soon!!! π π

Hi Rain, young Lily did a lovely piece of artwork there :) Thank you for doing the art dates, I would like to join you sometimes on the Friday group, it will be fun. I am disorganised and won't always make it but will try :) I didn't do any painting for some time as my hands are playing up (seeing a consultant next week again but it looks like arthritis) never mind I do have good days and I joined in with some old pictures I had archived. Betty x
Good morning Great post Rain, and your mushroom burger looks really delicious. Enjoyed your videos awesome-upcoming artist Thanks too for joining in for food wednesdays hugs Kathy
Hello Rain, Love the Bugs and Daffy sketch. Both bears are awesome, 9 yr old Lily is very talented. Your pizza looks yummy. Take care, have a happy day!
My Ottawa grandies are excellent artists. I don't know where that passion came from. One parent is a hydrogeologist, the other an encryption engineer! I shall watch your video, although it is too late for me. I've begun seeds!
You are so talented, Rain, and I love how much you are doing for kids! That little Lily did a wonderful job on her bear. Now I am hungry for pizza. lol. xo Diana
How wonderful on your PPF news! I will follow your prompts as I have been anyway! Delicious food. You are doing such good things for the kids on their art channel
I so enjoyed your gardening video, you will have a lot of watering/spritzing to do over the coming weeks! And lovely leaves and branches art I forgot to say earlier.
Thanks Christine! Btw, my hand is actually aching from the spritzing lol...I count to 10 spritzes when I water each cup every day and that means 2400 spritzes! I have a better way to water now though, I'll try to make a video on that for next week! ☺☺
Ohh Sis, I have enjoyed this post so much. I love the video of you getting your seeds going. Brilliant on the window shelves. I am going to do that in my art room. Our $ store has raised all of it's prices to $1.25 some things are just not worth the 25 cents but I always get my containers there. It's raining here today so my garden is getting a good drink. Love the mushroom burger and Lily is awesome. Have a great day today.
Hi Rain, I like your charcoal painting, so sweet! I watched your little video, wow, you were really busy putting 500 seeds in all these little containers. Great information as well! So far I haven't been very successful in growing plants from seeds (except poppies), but maybe I try again. I wanted to link up for this week's art date and probably do that a bit later.
Thank you also for your nice comment on my blog! I will try to get the recipe of the Brussels sprout dip from Lisa and then post it on one of our Food Wednesdays.
Rain i'am here from Food Wednesday and that burger and pizza look amazing! But i was real happy to read you are no longer requiring artists to follow the prompts.. Thats the one thing that has held me back from joining you on Thursdays.. I just do not work well under prompts.. So don't be surprised if you see me join you in coming weeks.. Happy Food Wednesday!! Hugs! deb
You may laugh, Rain, but I can't remember if I placed a comment or not! Anyway, you are making such good progress. I cleaned my bathroom light fixture today! I feel quite accomplished!
Hi Rain. Stopping by from Food Wednesdays and I'll ink my post on leaves and branches up tomorrow. Your mushroom burger and pizza look so yummy. I guess should have stopped by after dinner. Smile. And nice art too. I am loving the bear! Have fun in the garden. I'm out playing in mine a lot lately too. Hugs-Erika
Your drawings of Daffy and Bugs are so perfect! Oh, and your drawing of the bear is wonderful. And, as usual your foods look delicious. Wish I could reach in and take the homemade pizza. Is there anything you can't do?? :) You are really great in the video; you're so adorable in the cowboy hat, you are easy to listen to, and you're just pretty too.
I tried to leave a comment yesterday on Food Wednesday. I had trouble leaving a comment on Nicole's blog, too. I love the mushroom burger. Because I'm a vegetarian, this really appeals to me. Your pizza looks good, too.
Bugs is a real stinker. I know how hard it is to rake leaves, so I would be upset if he did that to me.
I'm also thrilled you have chosen to get rid of the required prompts. I was starting to worry about next month, so I will be thrilled that I can post anything I choose to post on TAD.
That is a great bear. You are SO talented.
Some years I start my seeds inside. If I plan to do that, I start saving egg shells in late fall to early winter, then I start the seeds in the shells. Once it's time to plant the seeds in the ground, I simply dig a hole, crack the egg over the hole, then plant the growing plant and shell in the ground. The shell provides added nutrients and slugs and other nasty bugs that might grow in, or migrate to the garden are put off by the egg shells. I also don't have to disturb the growing plant by transplanting it.
What fun to jump into all those leaves, I'm sure the wind would have taken them off to a new destination soon anyway hee hee.. Beautiful Bear charcoal drawing and what a talent Lily has she did so so well. Great news about the Anything goes Art theme's I may be able to join you all more regularly now if time allows me to get online. Happy TAD Hugs Tracey x
Fun post, Rain! Lily's bear in the forest is wonderful! Bugs Bunny's face reminds me of my brother's and mine when we used to jump into leaves. I'll pass on your mushroom burgers although I'm sure they were delicious for you. I don't particularly like mushrooms. I do have some photos for leaves and branches which will go up just after midnight. You are one busy lady, my friend!
Seeing the video of you starting your seed pots brought back memories, Rain. My husband did the same both in a small greenhouse and also directly in the yard. I'm not sure just how many seeds he planted, but certainly your number seems very large! Hope you get great results and the =window location and Dollar Store cups and pans was a great idea, also the cling srap for the greenhouse effect.
Rain, it looks like you're living the life you always dreamed! The art is gorgeous and that little girl is very talented! Your planting video was great and I am so tempted. Having to pay for water in this hot, hot climate is not worth it and I don't even want to go out in summer here! LOL! I'll probably do a few herbs and maybe some lettuce and cherry tomatoes but that's all. What a great set up you have with the sun, shelves and cups and foil pans....brilliant! Enjoy! Oh, the foold looked great too...I made stuffed portabello's last week.
I have been on both sides of Daffy and Bugs picture ... one side is fun and one is not. Which do you think I would choose if I could do it again? :)Cute Bear scene and good for Lily, she sure does have talent. You make a good friend for a budding artist. Yummmm, Mushroom Burgers. We love mushrooms, all kinds of them and love a new way to include them in my meal planning. I am not a vegetarian, but I am eating fresh and I don't eat red meat or pork ... just chicken and fish. It works for me. As for starting a garden my DIL will start hers soon. She is from a farming family and she plants all of her favorite Thai greens plus herbs and last year she planted corn. I only do the flower gardens at this point. It is enough to keep me in touch with our earth without breaking my back. Would never believe I am the daughter of a Horticulturist :( Anyway, it has been cold here so the gardening bug hasn't bit us yet so I will probably find something else to post next week. Love all that you are doing Rain ... stay well and safe :)
❤ Thanks for your comment, I love hearing from everyone! ❤ Why not join me and my fellow artists every Thursday for TADD? That's Thursday Art and Dinner Date! It's a lot of fun! Love, Rain
This is a nice blog.
ReplyDeleteNice video how to put the seeds in the pots and put them in front of your window.
The food looks delicious.
Greetings Irma
