Thursday Art Date: In The Water
Hello Friends!! ๐๐
Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is In The Water. Bugs and Tweety Bird insisted on recreating a scene from Disney's The Little Mermaid for this week's theme! Actually Bugs Bunny insisted more...I think he likes wearing wigs!
My art this week revolves around movies that take place in the water. I started a charcoal drawing of Robert Redford from the fantastic movie "All Is Lost". I really recommend this movie...there is zero dialogue and just a handful of spoken lines from Robert Redford. It's all about the struggle of a man lost at sea. It really is amazing.
Here is the trailer. I didn't finish the charcoal because I just couldn't draw him "old"...I kept seeing him as a young man in my mind and couldn't add any more wrinkles!!!
I'm a big "Jaws" fan and my favourite scene in the 1975 movie is when Roy Scheider sees the shark for the first time and freezes. I drew this with ink and graphite.
Here's that great scene from the movie.
In keeping with the theme, I took out my watercolours and painted a shark from my perspective if I were in the water. Eek!

How am I doing...well, feeling a little better every day. The car is fixed ($$$), the pets are healthy, I managed to afford a toaster oven to replace my big oven. So far it's standing up to my recipes very well! I bought the biggest one I could afford because I didn't want to have to replace all of my pans and bake-ware, it's a Kitchen Aid and it had great reviews. I hope it lasts!
Some of the hundreds of beekeeping boxes along the Blueberry Trail - photographed with my zoom lens from at least 200 feet away
During one of my 6am dog walks last weekend, I was attacked by an aggressive swarm of bees. I'm not kidding. It's a long story...it was terrifying and we were all lucky that we didn't get stung. I was nowhere near the beekeeping boxes that were irresponsibly plunked down along the walking trail without so much as a sign of warning. There were bees in my hair and all over my t-shirt ๐ I managed to get home after a panicky half kilometer sprint in 40C (104F) weather. They were relentless and followed/attacked/swarmed during most of that sprint. I was very sick for a long while after that, I think I went into shock. I feel like a tragedy could have happened that day and I'm still trying to process those frightening emotions. Screaming for help when no one is around is a devastating feeling. I don't have much respect for bees and those particular beekeepers right now.
Needless to say, my best intentions were to visit everyone's blogs last weekend, but the bees had other plans for my life. I need a break. Can you say a prayer for me friends? I'm not the pity-party type, but I feel like there is a curse on me!
On the positive, summer is here and I'm very much enjoying the heat and I'm ENJOYING THE HUMIDITY!!! (sorry Joyce!) How is your summer going so far?
This week's highlighted artist is Elizabeth from Altered Book Lover blog! This is just one of Elizabeth's contributions from last week's theme "Hands" - my favourite!! Elizabeth is such a creative and original artist, a cat lover and a wonderful person, please check out her blog! ๐

Heat and humidity? Bleah. I am glad that you are enjoying it and even gladder that you are feeling a little better. Bees kill more people than sharks do - each and every year.
So sorry about the bee attack, that must have been a nightmare, poor you. You must have felt really lost and alone. My thoughts are with you and yours! Hugs, Valerie
Love the Little Mermaid and your painted shark. :) Sorry to hear about the bees. It was strange. Was they swarming, maybe? And, are they supposed to pollinate the blueberry bushes. The mansion with the deers have hives here and there. At times there are lots of ctivity around them. I never get clsoe then, but I have never been followed by them. Strange!
Take care, and forgive them. They were probably hungry!
Hello rain! How cute * I grin * to the scene Bunny as a mermaid, he cuts a fine figure. The drawings are wonderful by Robert Redford and Roy Scheider with the great white shark and the films for them. What did I look at back then. Great to read that things are going uphill with you and everything around and your great oven that it lasts a long time. The food looks delicious in it. Then I read what a terrible experience with the swarm of bees, even while reading I get goose bumps, I am also afraid of the bees and wasps, mosquitoes, because I also have an allergic reaction. But so what huiii jeee yuck to be cruel so helpless. I am happy and puff that you have not yet got the stitches. Very dear comforting hug. I can understand that you need a break. Take a good rest from this cruel horror. Hugs, Elke
Hello Rain, Cute sketch of Mermaid Bugs and Tweety! The new toaster oven looks nice. I am glad the pets are healthy. I am scared of bees. My hubby has had them chasing him while he was cutting our grass. Nasty buggers! I am sending you all good thoughts, prayers and healing wishes, sorry about those bees. Take care, have a happy day!
I like your Bugs "Little Mermaid" sketch. If I had noticed today's theme then I could've easily used some old illustrations from my Little Mermaid art series from a few years ago. I'm sorry to hear about your run in with some angry bees. That had to be very scary. Do you have any idea who the bee owners are, if so, perhaps something needs to be kindly said to them so this doesn't happen again. I guess when you're living way out from others, it's an easy thing to not think that someone will come across such things. I'll certainly say a prayer for you. Thanks for mentioning the Kitchen Aid counter toaster oven. We have an older Cuisinart toaster oven which appears to be smaller than the unit you bought and I use it all the time. It does excellent for reheating foods and even toasting bread but I'm not sure how it would do for baking breads, etc. I hope you're feeling more calm now. Sending hugs your way, my dear! Have a good day. ๐๐
So glad you survived that bee swarm! Beautiful art today I love all these pieces, and Bugs Mermaid made me laugh. Glad you got your car fixed and the toaster oven looks really good. Have a good week of recovery.
Ohhhh great picks for your theme. I have to tell you that them movie All is Lost was so boring to me, however, Jaws, my all time faves. Great art on both. I really like your toaster oven. I always wondered why it was named that. It does so much more that toast. LOL So glad you go away from the bees. You can keep the humidity but send me some warm sunshine. Have a great day today.
Hi Rain, you are having such a lot of bad luck. Can I suggest you get someone maybe from a spiritualist church in to give your house a 'cleansing' I had mine exorcised by a church minister about 20 years ago which was very extreme I know (I am no longer particularly religious but believe me it was necessary at that time and very real)... but I now do my own - my mother was a psychic and would use salt in corners of room swept out and burn sage - you say bad spirits leave, get out, evil out, I do not invite you, etc ... that kind of stuff! I think your animals would appreciate it too.. the bee attack is very serious, the keepers must be mad not to have any warnings up. I don't know how to deal with that and remember a similar incident when I was a child - the hornets chased my brother but flew straight past me and ignored me, he was badly stung... maybe a bottle of spray water in your backpac might be good to deter them as they won't want their wings wetted? Hope it never happens again... blessings to you and I hope you feel better soon xxx Betty
Wow, that is a shock ... a bee attack. That might make a movie as good as, if not better than Jaws. Seriously, there have been reports of the "killer bees" in north west US. They are very aggressive and it really sounds like that might be what you ran into. Probably why they got dumped. I would report it to the authorities so that they can be removed. I am a fan of bees ... the pollinating version that is and there is a scary shortage of them. I am glad you made it through with out a single sting, but the stress had to be horrifying... So sorry. Happy for the rest of your post, though ... Love the Bugs. He has become quite versatile under your care :) And happy that the pets are all back in good shape. Love your toaster oven. I have dabbled with the idea of one, but they have come out with so many versions that it is hard to make a choice. In due time, I guess. As for your art and your choices you hit another home run. You have grown so much in your talent just since I have followed you ... You are an awesome lady and making such progress toward feeling better is just one of your gifts. Stay well, Rain ...
Bugs was always gender-fluid, the little trickster! I admire how Robert Redford has let himself age naturally instead of going the face-lift etc route. Although I'm sure his hair must be a wig by now. I love your watercolour shark!
I hope you reported the bee attack to whichever authority is responsible for the walking trails. That's just irresponsible to have bee hives there, as you say. Sorry you had such a scary and nasty experience. Unfortunate and unfair.
Beautiful art and I'm so glad to hear the fur kids are all healthy and the car is fixed now. What happened to you with the bees is so terrifying, I'm so glad you made it through ok somehow. I know how you feel about feeling like there's a curse on you. I went through a time like that in life and seriously thought it might be true at the time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope things will start turning around for you soon.
That episode with the swarming bees was terrible to read about, Rain, and how awful that they actually followed you. I know that bee keepers are responsible about their hives, but those hives being placed alongside the road are obviously dangerous. As someone else commented, perhaps you can report the incident so no one else will suffer as you did. Those beekeepers do not seem to be very responsible. Hope you are feeling better now. Onto better things like seeing the photo of your new KitchenAid oven and the wonderful food you were prepping in it. Glad to read about the car being repaired as well and hope the pets are doing OK too.
Robert Redford is one of my favorite actors, but I hadn't heard of that film. Thanks for the clip link. I can remember seeing Jaws when it was in the movie theaters.
That is a very unfortunate experience Rain. Bess are typically not like that - European Bees anyway - unless they have been agitated for some reason, or likely to swarm. Not sure, but very sad.
Oh SORRY I missed the part about the bee attack! They should be more off in an area by themselves. Mu hubby got multiple stings (10?) from yellow jackets a few years ago, I had to really dose him up with Benadryl, thought we'd be going to the ER. So sorry
And I loved Robert Redford in "All Is Lost" too. I cry every time I hear the intro, what a great film. I saw it in the theater, hubby didn't want to go, he loved it too.
I am really sorry I didn't play this week, but, like you, I need a bit of a break, too. I'll be back soon, though. I feel especially bad because you made me the highlighted artist and I didn't play this week.
I have a friend who just bought and assembled some bee boxes. She got her bees through the mail and whenever she goes out to check on them, she wears a suit. She took one glove off the first time she was there. She had to release the queen from the container she was in when they shipped her. She said her hand swelled up and she got sick. I think she knows what she can and can't do now. I feel for you. You must have been in severe distress.
I LOVE your shark and your drawing of Roy Scheider. That was one scary film, but I loved it. I'd never heard of the Redford film before.
It was fun seeing how you treated this week's theme. I loved every bit of it. Glad you got something that you can cook on and even HAPPIER all the pets, including Leo, are doing well!!
Hi Rain, I really connected with your sketch of Roy Scheider, once again you're got the eyes perfectly. The shark is also poster-worthy! I saw Jaws on theater first release as soon as I could locally. I was 19. Given that it came out 2 years before Star Wars and used a mechanized FX shark that truly scared the audience, it is probably a memorable moment in everyone's lives who saw it that summer. I'm so happy your problems have resolved for you since last post. We are on our second Kitchen Aid toaster oven and when this one gives out we will definitely buy another one. Our wall oven is horribly slow and heats the kitchen, so we use our toaster oven almost exclusively. I can vouch for it. It should last a couple of years, but don't think of that as a weakness, because as much as you cook you will have used it to death. No toaster oven is made to completely replace a full oven or last as long, but this brand comes the closest. Best to just accept that! That bee sttack sounds horrid, yes, what a trauma! My husband would be on that beekeeper's doorstep with his gun! Me, I would make warning signs on the trail. Isn't there some government agency you can report this to? I am guessing you are not the first person to have been attacked. I will keep you in my prayers to regain a sense of peace, security and gratitude, XOX
Oh my, that beekeeper needs to be told, mind you, I suppose the answer is they are wild what can be done? I am sending you a big virtual hug across the lands that would have made me a very un Zen Wren for weeks... I like your toaster oven where we are staying here we have one of these (and no oven) I am a big fan too, well until my whole pizza doesn't fit in! Sending you all the positive vibes in the world Wren x
Yikes! Did you take Benadryl right away? Keep them on hand, Rain! Hope you are beginning to feel more lifted, and please know that we are sending our positive prayers and calling on Mother Earth for healing! Have a better week !
That sure is a beautiful toaster oven. I am envious! That is rather odd about the hives in the fields. Is it crown land? There must be regulations about stuff like that. I'm sorry you don't have a good relationship with bees. Good to hear your critters are all well.
Hi Rain. That bee experience must have been totally scary. Very, very irresponsible of the owners to both place hives on a trail and not post warning signs.
If you're a fan of Jaws it's on our TVs regularly. So much so that it's become a bit of a standing joke when someone asks " what's on TV tonight?". Pleased you're feeling stronger and happier than of late. Keep it up!
Hey Rain, it was so good to see you stopping by the blog and saying hi. Your creations in art are so good. I am so proud of you. OOPS on the bees. Hoping you have gotten all that worked out with the owners. So not cool to have to deal with that stuff. I have a great respect for bees, AT A DISTANCE! Not a big fan of them up close. I am sorry you had to deal with that.
I hate attacking bees and oh god! Hope you're feeling better now. It was a horrible experience you've had to undergo. Prayers for you, on your way and May you heel faster. My sister was attacked by yellow bees (big ones) when we visited our ancestral home and not one but several. I still remember how painful, scary and difficult situation it was for her and I just hope no one else has to suffer so much.
I liked your art and the ideas behind your work. I particularly like your blue shark. Looks so lively!
Thanks everyone! ♥♥ I'm finally feeling better and back to my old self! I have caught up and visited everyone's blogs and am back to answering each comment, so thanks for sticking with me! ♥♥♥
Hi Monica :) I found it strange too since I was so far away from the boxes. The fact that they followed me really scared me, but I won't go anywhere near that trail until I see those boxes gone. I will forgive them! ;)
Thanks so much Elke :) I don't even know if I'm allergic to bee stings because I never got stung before. I would not have wanted to find out while I was all alone! I did get stung by a wasp once and I was okay, but yeah, it was a scary experience.
Hi Kristina :) We have a dehumidifier, but it emits so much heat that we can't use it unless the a/c is on, which kind of defeats the entire purpose of trying NOT to use so many appliances!!
Thanks Cathy :) The land over there is privately owned by a company that sells blueberries...they allow people to walk freely along the trails but I never see them. They are supposed to harvest in August so if I catch someone there during that time I'll ask to speak to the owner of the land. I bought the biggest toaster oven I could find because I still wanted to do my baking. My pizzas, focaccias and donuts all turned out really well actually so I'm pretty happy with it as a baking oven!
Thanks Jenn :) Wasps are worse if you ask me!!! They keep stinging...I feel bad for your daughter! And I'm sorry you are feeling depression lately (you mentioned it last post)...I hope you feel better soon. xxx
Hi Nicole :) Jaws is great, I can watch it weekly and never get bored!! Oh too bad you didn't like All Is Lost! I really like movies with very little dialogue, but being a fan of Robert Redford helped! :)
Thanks so much Betty :) I responded to your comment on your blog. I used to sage my home often, but ran out and haven't replaced it for months...my new batch arrived today and tomorrow morning I will be saging the entire house and property. I think there is a lot of negative energy in this house. I used to put protection pouches at the corners of my house, which I'm working on as well. Nicole (DV Artist) suggested wearing turquoise as well, and I now have a turquoise crystal that I wear around my neck. Hoping the bad luck goes away now. And thanks! I love Jaws too, though mine looks a little like he has bedroom eyes lol...
Hi Andrea :) Actually I saw a movie called "The Swarm"!! It was one of those really bad 1970's disaster flicks...but yeah, terror indeed! I am a fan of bees too, but this really threw me for a loop. Bugs is a ham...all of these costumes are HIS idea by the way! ;) Thanks for your lovely comment! :) Oh the toaster oven, I spent days looking through them all, my gosh they now have toaster oven/air fryer combos...I just wanted a small oven that could bake, I don't toast! I think I picked a winner! :)
Thank you Debra :) The blueberry fields are privately owned and the owner allows people to walk/quad the trail. When they come to harvest in August I will seek him out and let him know what happened. I agree with what you said about Robert Redford naturally aging...have you seen Mickey Rourke lately??? :-o
Thanks Martha :) Yes...it is a weird feeling to have such constant bad luck, but I know that things will turn around for me. I'm trying everything to keep my chin up and roll with the punches!
Thanks Dorothy :) Oh I wish I'd seen Jaws in the theaters, but I probably would have been too scared. I remember the first time I saw it, it was on television, I was still quite young...I couldn't have been more than 12 years old...I hid under the coffee table because I was so scared lol...Let me know if you watch the Robert Redford film, I thought it was fantastic!
Thanks TB :) It was 104F that morning and I suspect that the bee boxes on the other side of the trail had just been moved, maybe they were "escapees" and very angry and I just happened to be in their path!
Hi Nancy :) Don't worry about missing the bee part! And you didn't have to delete your comment at all. I can't imagine having one sting...10??? I have Benadryl here and we use it often because one of our dogs has an allergy to insect bites. I really am a fan of bees and pollination, but it will take me a little while to forgive them lol! :)
Thanks Leigh :) I really like the toaster oven and that's why I bought a huge one. I wanted everything I baked in the big oven to fit in that one. It's the biggest one they make and because it didn't have any extra frills on it, it was reasonably priced ($250 CAD)...so far it's standing up to my recipes!
Hi Elizabeth :) Oh don't feel bad, you are a great artist and should be highlighted whether you join in weekly or not!! :) I am so glad I didn't get stung because honestly I don't know if I'm allergic or not!!
Thanks Aimeslee :) Even seeing Jaws nowadays I think the special effects are amazing. I WISH I'd seen it in theaters for the first time, that would have been very memorable!! I answered your comment on your blog, but wanted to say thanks again for the information about the toaster oven. I will not mind at all replacing it if it keeps working so well! So far it's been very consistent!!!
Thanks Sweet Wren :) I will be seeking out the owner of that land when they start to harvest the blueberries in August. He can do what he wants, but I really want him to know what happened! Oh the pizzas...well, I bought the biggest toaster oven I could find and IT FITS my 9" pizza pan!!! :))
Hi Rosalea :) It's private land and the owner allows people to walk there. I'll be looking for him when they harvest in August, at least to let him know what happened. How he'll react??? We'll see! The toaster oven is glorious. I will never use the big oven again!! :)
Hi Phil :) Oh LOL...that's funny about Jaws...I would totally watch it every time it came on TV!!! I will be having a talk with the owner of the land when I can find him!! I hope he responds well. You never know!
Thank you Bhavana and welcome to my blog! :) I'm sorry your sister had to deal with that, I'm so grateful I didn't get stung...and the dogs didn't either!
Firstly, love your art for the weekly prompt. I remember those movies. I liked the second Jaws movie better than the first.
Secondly, I'm so sorry about your terrifying experience with the bees. You are very lucky not to have been stung.
I hope things start improving after the run of bad luck. On top of the other suggestions, I've read that another good way to lift the energy in a room is to get rid of any stale energy that often collects in the corners of a room, under tables etc. Clapping into the corners from the bottom up helps. Thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way.
Hi Rain, Wow, what an interesting post. Your encounter with the bees sounds really frightening! Glad you are OK after getting over the shock. Truly irresponsible beekeepers. I like your charcoal art! I haven’t seen All is Lost but it is going on my watch list. Thanks! Your new toaster oven looks great! Thanks for sharing and have a great day! John
I am so sorry about the bee attack! You are always in my thoughts and prayers Rain! The toaster oven looks good! So happy the car is fixed and I am happy you are feeling a little better! You are so creative with your art! I love it all! Big Hugs!
❤ Thanks for your comment, I love hearing from everyone! ❤ Why not join me and my fellow artists every Thursday for TADD? That's Thursday Art and Dinner Date! It's a lot of fun! Love, Rain
Heat and humidity? Bleah.

Hello Rain,
ReplyDeleteCute sketch of Mermaid Bugs and Tweety! The new toaster oven looks nice. I am glad the pets are healthy. I am scared of bees. Sorry to hear those aggressive bees attacked you.

...it's good to hear that things are moving along for you. Thanks for hosting and take care.
ReplyDeleteJaws was a great movie for sure. We have humidity here too, but my house hates it. I have a dehumidifier going daily.
ReplyDeleteRain,

ReplyDeleteI have to mention that I love my toaster oven. I used it for most things I bake, with the exception of things that won't fit (obviously!)
And I loved Robert Redford in "All Is Lost" too. I cry every time I hear the intro, what a great film. I saw it in the theater, hubby didn't want to go, he loved it too.

ReplyDeleteOh my, that beekeeper needs to be told, mind you, I suppose the answer is they are wild what can be done? I am sending you a big virtual hug across the lands that would have made me a very un Zen Wren for weeks...
ReplyDeleteI like your toaster oven where we are staying here we have one of these (and no oven) I am a big fan too, well until my whole pizza doesn't fit in!
Sending you all the positive vibes in the world
Wren x
How scary to be attacked by so many bees, glad you got home safely. Love your shark painting! Elle xx
ReplyDeleteYikes! Did you take Benadryl right away? Keep them on hand, Rain! Hope you are beginning to feel more lifted, and please know that we are sending our positive prayers and calling on Mother Earth for healing! Have a better week !
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a beautiful toaster oven. I am envious! That is rather odd about the hives in the fields. Is it crown land? There must be regulations about stuff like that. I'm sorry you don't have a good relationship with bees. Good to hear your critters are all well.
ReplyDeleteOh very interesting
ReplyDeleteHi Rain. That bee experience must have been totally scary. Very, very irresponsible of the owners to both place hives on a trail and not post warning signs.
ReplyDeleteIf you're a fan of Jaws it's on our TVs regularly.
ReplyDeleteI hate attacking bees and oh god!
ReplyDeleteI liked your art and the ideas behind your work. I particularly like your blue shark. Looks so lively!
Thanks everyone! ♥♥ I'm finally feeling better and back to my old self! I have caught up and visited everyone's blogs and am back to answering each comment, so thanks for sticking with me! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteHi Elephant's Child :) I believe that statistic about bees. Thanks for the well wishes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie :) Yes...I felt very helpless, it was very scary!
ReplyDeleteHi Monica :) I found it strange too since I was so far away from the boxes. The fact that they followed me really scared me, but I won't go anywhere near that trail until I see those boxes gone. I will forgive them! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Elke :) I don't even know if I'm allergic to bee stings because I never got stung before. I would not have wanted to find out while I was all alone! I did get stung by a wasp once and I was okay, but yeah, it was a scary experience.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gillena :) ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom and you're welcome. I'm glad to see your contribution each week! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kristina :) We have a dehumidifier, but it emits so much heat that we can't use it unless the a/c is on, which kind of defeats the entire purpose of trying NOT to use so many appliances!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy :) The land over there is privately owned by a company that sells blueberries...they allow people to walk freely along the trails but I never see them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine :) I'm well on my way to recovery! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn :) Wasps are worse if you ask me!!! They keep stinging...I feel bad for your daughter! And I'm sorry you are feeling depression lately (you mentioned it last post)...I hope you feel better soon. xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole :) Jaws is great, I can watch it weekly and never get bored!! Oh too bad you didn't like All Is Lost! I really like movies with very little dialogue, but being a fan of Robert Redford helped! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Betty :) I responded to your comment on your blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea :) Actually I saw a movie called "The Swarm"!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra :) The blueberry fields are privately owned and the owner allows people to walk/quad the trail. When they come to harvest in August I will seek him out and let him know what happened. I agree with what you said about Robert Redford naturally aging...have you seen Mickey Rourke lately??? :-o
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha :) Yes...it is a weird feeling to have such constant bad luck, but I know that things will turn around for me. I'm trying everything to keep my chin up and roll with the punches!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dorothy :) Oh I wish I'd seen Jaws in the theaters, but I probably would have been too scared. I remember the first time I saw it, it was on television, I was still quite young...I couldn't have been more than 12 years old...I hid under the coffee table because I was so scared lol...Let me know if you watch the Robert Redford film, I thought it was fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks TB :) It was 104F that morning and I suspect that the bee boxes on the other side of the trail had just been moved, maybe they were "escapees" and very angry and I just happened to be in their path!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy :) Don't worry about missing the bee part! And you didn't have to delete your comment at all. I can't imagine having one sting...10??? I have Benadryl here and we use it often because one of our dogs has an allergy to insect bites. I really am a fan of bees and pollination, but it will take me a little while to forgive them lol! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Leigh :) I really like the toaster oven and that's why I bought a huge one. I wanted everything I baked in the big oven to fit in that one. It's the biggest one they make and because it didn't have any extra frills on it, it was reasonably priced ($250 CAD)...so far it's standing up to my recipes!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gigi :)
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth :) Oh don't feel bad, you are a great artist and should be highlighted whether you join in weekly or not!! :) I am so glad I didn't get stung because honestly I don't know if I'm allergic or not!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimeslee :) Even seeing Jaws nowadays I think the special effects are amazing. I WISH I'd seen it in theaters for the first time, that would have been very memorable!! I answered your comment on your blog, but wanted to say thanks again for the information about the toaster oven. I will not mind at all replacing it if it keeps working so well! So far it's been very consistent!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sweet Wren :) I will be seeking out the owner of that land when they start to harvest the blueberries in August. He can do what he wants, but I really want him to know what happened! Oh the pizzas...well, I bought the biggest toaster oven I could find and IT FITS my 9" pizza pan!!! :))
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Elle :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Dino :) I have Benadryl at home, but was lucky enough not to be stung! Thank you for your prayers!! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Rosalea :) It's private land and the owner allows people to walk there. I'll be looking for him when they harvest in August, at least to let him know what happened. How he'll react??? We'll see! The toaster oven is glorious. I will never use the big oven again!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sakuranko :)
ReplyDeleteHi Phil :) Oh LOL...that's funny about Jaws...I would totally watch it every time it came on TV!!! I will be having a talk with the owner of the land when I can find him!! I hope he responds well. You never know!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam :) I feel the same way I'm okay with bees at a distance. It's so nice to see your comment :))
ReplyDeleteThank you Bhavana and welcome to my blog! :) I'm sorry your sister had to deal with that, I'm so grateful I didn't get stung...and the dogs didn't either!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to read about the bee attack.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your art.
Sending positive vibes and lots of good wishes to you.
All the best Jan
Thanks so much Jan! :)
ReplyDeleteYou were so brave with the bees! I would have been screaming like a lunatic.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, love your art for the weekly prompt. I remember those movies. I liked the second Jaws movie better than the first.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I'm so sorry about your terrifying experience with the bees.
Take care,
Serena xx
Trust me Stefanie, I was screaming! Nobody was around though!
ReplyDeleteThanks Serena, nice to see you back! :) I love your idea of clapping, thank you so much for that suggestion! I'm trying everything! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Rain, Wow, what an interesting post. John
ReplyDeleteHi John :) I was surprised at how long it took me to feel okay after that incident with the bees! Thanks for your comment! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about the bee attack! You are always in my thoughts and prayers Rain! The toaster oven looks good! So happy the car is fixed and I am happy you are feeling a little better! You are so creative with your art! I love it all! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Stacy! :) All is well here now! :)
