Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is Hands. Who do you think will win in this match? I think Yosemite Sam has the fiery strength and passion to win...but I suspect Bugs Bunny has something up his sleeve!
Here's a little video of the pets. They are all doing well thankfully. My car is not doing well, nor is my oven...grrrrr!!! This too shall pass, this too shall pass....I'm trying to get back to blogging and drawing. I intend on visiting everyone's blogs this weekend to catch up, so we ask that you please bear with us. π» Despite feeling low most days, I'm trying my best to see the positive in everything. Thanks again friends for your continued love and support and to those who have lent me a helping hand! π
These are my hands...kind of a mix of how I've been feeling lately! I have to admit, I'm not very good at drawing hands...but then, I've never actually taken the time to practice. For my art this week, I focused more on portraits where the person showed their hands.
"I refer to my hands, feet and body as the tools of the trade. The hands and feet must be sharpened and improved daily to be efficient." - Bruce Lee (drawn in charcoals)
"Just remember, you can't climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets." - Arnold Schwarzenegger (unfinished charcoal drawing)
“Film is fragmented and gets into lots of other people's hands. There are a lot of pleasures that theatre gives me. You get to perform uninterrupted.” - Willem Dafoe (drawn with ink and graphite)
That's all for now folks! Please check out the link widget below for more "Hands" creations!
See you soon!!! πππ

Glad that the pets are doing well. Big sigh at everything which is not.
ReplyDeleteAnd hugs.
Max Bunny always has tricks up his sleeve. Cool fun drawing!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see your sweet rascals all in this video and everyone is fine!
Big hug on them !!!!
Your wonderful drawings are great in different ways of painting, I love these actors!
You are brave, you fight your way through that is good and you still have a lot of strength and endurance.
Hug's Elke
Congratulations to cathy!!!!
I love that drawing of Bugs and Yosemite Sam. It is really clever.
ReplyDeleteI'm breathing a sigh of relief for Leo. I swear, he looks SO much like Bleubeard they could be brothers.
You drew some amazing hands. I'm always impressed with your drawing skills.
I have an entire altered book on Hands, so this was a special week for me. The hard part was deciding what few images/pages to show!
Hope you get your car working well and your stove, too, dear Rain.
Really sorry to read you are all going through a stinker of a time Rain, I have not had the best of times myself over the past couple of months. Sending you an extra virtual hug. I agree hands are not the easiest of things to draw and tends to be a part of my private art, think i've only ever shared once one piece of art I use to hold positive words to help me through the day.
ReplyDeleteYour studies are super as always, the hand has many ways of expressing how it feels without the need for words. Take care, stay strong and healing hand hugs. Tracey xx
Congrats to Cathy featured today.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday everyone
much❤love
Wonderful post Rain! Glad the fur family are all doing well! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletelol, I think there weill be no winner in that match. They will probably drop over and hit the floor :)
ReplyDeleteTaek care!
...Rain I;m sorry to hear of your problems, let's hope that they pass soon.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am rooting for Bugs Bunny to win, love the cartoon drawing. Your furbabies are all adorable, cute video. I am glad they are doing well. I hope the problems can be fixed, sending hugs and good thoughts your way. Have a happy day and a great weekend!
Beautiful art and I'm so glad to hear the pets are all doing well. Stay positive my friend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hand art you did Rain. Art is therapeutic so it can help you through these challenging times. We are here for you. Nice to meet your pets in that sweet video.
ReplyDeleteYes, hands ARE hellishly hard to do! I hope the summer weather and growing season will help lift your spirits a bit! And hey Rain, do you get the Food Network? They are starting a new series on CHEESE around the world, starting on Wed June 9th. Of course, I immediately thought of you, cheese-maker extraordinaire! I plan on watching and learning about delicious, delicious cheese!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are doing well. Sorry to hear about your car and oven. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing all of the right things to get your mood on an upswing ... I think of you often and I am pulling for you.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there is Bugs ... you know your are right. He for sure has something up his sleeve that will take us all by surprise and Yosemite Sam knows it too, but there is nothing he can do :(
So good to hear that all the pets are well again ... I know how heart rendering it is when one of our babies is sick. That's another up thing in your life ... now to just fix the stove. We will miss your delicious, tempting meals and I know cooking is one of your positives.
I can't say enough about your portraits ... they are really wonderful and done on the the black so part of the picture is the exclusion of parts ... brilliant! I love them all. If you know a good printer, you should make yourself a book of your portraits ... it would be awesome ... and you could browse through it when your confidence is waning and see how good you really are.
Happy to have you back, Rain ... it has to be all up from here :) My Mother used to say "Think positive" and that goes through my mind whenever I am feeling down ... it does make a difference. Be well, Dear Rain ...
Andrea @ From The Sol
Hands can be difficult to draw, that's for sure. Love your portraits.
ReplyDeleteRain,
ReplyDeleteAhhh, thank you for featuring me today! I'm so honored and to think I don't have any new artwork to share. Oh bother! I'm on my summer posting schedule now and I'm not sure what I'll be doing except for my Monday's slot each week. Anything else I do will be icing on the cupcake. :D
I enjoyed your 'hands' art pieces - fabulous! This would've been a good challenge. I'm going to make a note to try my hand at drawing hands and perhaps I can share it next week. :)
Have a doodletastic day!
Well I think your art hands are great! Your hands are strong and that is a good sign. Wonderful art and a great pick for this weeks show off.
ReplyDeletePleased that the pets are doing well. Sorry about your car and oven though!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your art.
Sending positive vibes your way.
Take care.
All the best Jan
Keep going Rain! We love you! I love seeing your pet video! So cute! Hands are very hard to draw! You've done an excellent job! Big Hugs! Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteI love Cathy's art piece! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteYour Schwarzenegger is great!
ReplyDeleteDearest Rain - I have this thought at the moment that I have written about on my IG, It just feels like here there is good energy in the world around here and I hope it might come your way. The energy is swirling, easy to miss. One has to sit still to see if it lands your way (I'm obviously sounding really whacky now!) Sometimes with all the stuff going on we have to race around in the hope of finding the energy. I wish you happy days enjoying being still & painting and the positive energy coming your way. If it does land let me know!! I will be jumping for joy for you. Good choice choosing Cathy's artwork. Have a happy week xx
ReplyDeletei never saw bunny loosing any battle so no doubt he will win this one too lol
ReplyDeletei am sorry if you are not feeling much energetic though i believe with such a fighter you are you will surly come out of it dear Rain !
your video is sweet ,it was really nice to meet all cute fellas :)
this painting by Kathy is so adorable :)
best wishes for all you choose to do my friend!
So glad to hear that Leo is doing better. I love the little video! You have a heart of gold. Such lucky kitties and doggies to have you for a mama. You do not deserve car trouble and oven trouble...but isn't it something all the time! You are right, "this too shall pass". Love from Henny.
ReplyDeleteLovely artwork, Rain!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've been on the down-low. I can relate.
I'm finally back blogging after a long absence so hope to visit more and even participate in your weekly art event.
I hope Leo continues to do well. Loved seeing all the pets... so sweet. We have quite a menagerie here too.
I hope you are enjoying a beautiful and relaxing weekend.
Big hugs,
Serena xx
Sending good vibes your way, Rain, so that all the crappy stuff goes away!
ReplyDeleteJust when things are on the upswing with the pets, it seems like mechanical things start to fail. Hope the car and oven issues are short lived and not too costly, Rain. Good to see a new post too.
ReplyDeleteLOL Each of your fur babies was more relaxed than the one before. That was great to meet them all that way. Your HANDiwork art is great. :) I hope your car and oven are easily fixed. Hugs to you, friend.
ReplyDeleteyour hand drawing is expressive - I can't draw hands at all well. Isn't it interesting watching how animals use their hands/paws - we have squirrels in the garden who are very dexterous and my little cat has just been given a slow feeder puzzle, it's interesting watching how she uses her little paws to extract her dry food ... my hands are clumsy, I am always dropping things! I hope you feel better soon - I have 'black dog' at the moment myselfl a bit.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy your art and I really enjoyed the video with ALL of your fur kids. Wow, my house would be much more interesting to live in if I could have those beauties. I just have a cat who is very serene and quiet except for when she has those bursts of energy which is so needed with a house cat - where they have to run and get it spent. They are all so cute.
ReplyDeleteWe've been struggling with depression, as well. I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the video of all your sleeping cats and dogs, how lovely that they all hang out together in the same room. Your Willem Dafoe sketch is amazing. Thanks for visiting me last week. Elle xx
ReplyDeleteI have good memories of Bugs Bunny.
