I just love Yosemite Sam's cabin and Daffy Duck "Scrooge" with Bugs as the "Jacob Marley" door knocker! And I had a Spirograph when I was an adolescent -- loved the beautiful symmetrical designs I could make with it!

ReplyDeleteWhat a welcoming image you (and Jack) have created to welcome your guests to the party. Looks like they have brought gifts, too. I know they will appreciate the food, drink, and cookies you will ply them with.
Your charcoal drawing is incredibly clever. The Santa and sleigh with reindeer over the moon is amazing.
You put a LOT into the Looney Tunes Christmas Doors. I can see why it took so long to create these. Not only did you have to come up with a different character each day, as well as a different door, you had to color each one, too. I'm sure you will look back on these over the years and appreciate just how very, very impressive they are.
How nice to be able to feed birds from your hand. Looks like it was quite successful, too.
I had a spirograph for years. I loved it. When my basement flooded one year, the spirograph never made it back from storage. I searched high and low, but it wasn't in any of the boxes the packers returned. I was quite sad about that, too. I know you will love yours.
Have a totally wonderful, joyous, safe, and healthy Christmas, dear Rain. Now I really, really want a grilled cheese sandwich!
Loving your art (particularly the white charcoal on black paper), drooling at your food (if I short out the keyboard it is your fault). And loving your furry companions too. Isn't hand feeding birds amazing.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the very best Christmas - and an even better year to follow.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful drawings these are ... wave lovingly to you and step inside .. sweet everything and lots of fun pictures, i love this!!!!
When it comes to food, you're great artists with so much delicious, I love cheese and sweet!
But these are also golden shots of your four-legged friends and I can fully understand that you love them. Caresses from me !!!!!
Sweet as the great tit sits on your hand, that gives you confidence. The spirograph oh yes I know it where I was little, great that you have something like that. Have fun with it!
I wish you a happy Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and Alex, hugs Elke
Hi Rain, I didn't know white charcoal even existed, your picture is beautiful. Cartoons are fun and I can see a lot of time and planning has gone into them - thanks for sharing and making blogland a brighter place :) How lovely that birds are coming to your hand - tha'ts something I would like to do but with a cat it would not be practical sadly. Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a safer and better New Year 2021.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas, stay safe and well! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI loved scrolling through your sketches to see how your looney tune characters get ready for the season, the look on Daffy's face is priceless. I used to love my spirograph as a child.. Merry Christmas to you and yours & stay safe our Christmas will be very different from those in the past.. here's to extra canine cuddles. Hugs Tracey xx

Great to have those chickadees visit your feeders, and now that you have fed them by hand your life is complete! Try it without gloves; it is even more satisfying. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
ReplyDelete...a Spirograph, I had one as a kid! I hope that you will enjoy a healthy and joyous Christmas. I'll be back tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI love your artwork, Rain! And the food, of course. LOL
ReplyDeleteI bought a Spirograph for my kids when they were little but I think it was mostly for me. They didn't use it but I did!
Merry Christmas to all of you!
Your art always amazes me, you are so talented! All the food looks so delicious too. Love all the critters, so cool to feed the little birds by hand! Wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAll of your food looks so good! I'm guessing all the cheese was made by you? Amazing! Spirograph... inherited from an older sibling. I loved it but never got the hang of making designs using the long, thin pieces. Still, it was wonderful seeing what I could make! Have a very merry Christmas with all your furry friends, Rain. -Jenn

Rain, all your art is lovely and I particularly love the charcoal etching of Santa soaring across the moon. Your dog faces makes me yearn to have a dog again....Damn allergies. Just looking at your food puts the pounds on!! I always wanted a Spirograph..so cool. Isn't it fun to have the birds come to your hand? I have a friend who has had a Pine Grosbeak eat seeds off of her hand. So far, we just have the Chickadees doing that. Have a lovely, peaceful Christmas in your new home. All the best.
ReplyDeleteLove your doors. Have an enjoyable Christmas. It will be very quiet for us this year.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Rain! The charcoal of Santa is wonderful (as, of course, are all of your drawings).
ReplyDeleteI do love the vintage Spirograph (one of the wonders of youth)1
And of course I forgot to say I love your Night Before Christmas piece!
ReplyDeleteRain,
ReplyDeleteYou never fail to amuse me with your cleverly humorous sketches. You do a marvelous job with the Looney Tune characters and the 25 Days of Christmas Doors challenge you met with flying colors...red and green to be precise! :)
Thank you for hosting the Thursday art date. It's been such a blast when everything else in 2020 was going down the tubes. I hope you and Alex and all the furbabies have a beautiful and blessed Christmas, dear friend! Sending hugs and love to you!!
PS: I LOVE your charcoal Christmas Eve - fabulous job!
Thanks Friends! You make my day with your lovely comments!!!
ReplyDeleteJenn: The only cheese I don't make is the orange Cheddar because I don't like the colour additive, so we buy Balderson, it's an Ontario cheese and VERY good! But only cost-effective if you get it at Costco!! $$$

ReplyDeleteRain, belated Christmas greetings to you and Alex as i did not turn on the computer the past couple of days. The artwork was so much fun to see and the food looked so good just in the photos! One of these days I will try making our own egg nog as once the holiday season is over it's no longer available on store shelves. Your version adapted from Williams Sonoma seems just the drink for a winter's eve!
