Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is Light and Dark. I decided to go with a good and evil spin for this week's theme. I love the Jeckyll and Hyde story, and the Looney Tunes did it several times. This is a scene from "Hyde and Hare" where Bugs is adopted by a lonely old man who happens to be Dr. Jeckyll! Here is the video link, I can't find where to embed it on Daily Motion!
I finished my aging face coloured pencil drawing. This was a nice class, I learned a lot about colour theory and layering!
Alex and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary last week! We had a Smoked Cheddar Fondue with Homemade Bread. And we opened up a bottle of bubbly that we've had since 2013! We were celebrating buying our home too.
That's all for now folks! But please check out the link widget below to see more Light and Dark artwork!

ReplyDeleteRain,
ReplyDeleteI don't have any artwork to share today but I did put up a post with a link back to your site. I did find inspiration in your theme to put something together with the hopes uplift folks during these dark times, reminding each that we'll once again see the light. Stay healthy, my friend. Enjoy your celebration with Alex. Congratulations on your 7th anniversary and a new home purchase. :) Be happy and blessed always! xx
Wow ~ your drawing turned out great! I forgot about the Looney Tunes Jeckyll and Hyde episodes, wonderful classics. I'll have to share that with my daughter today. You know how to celebrate! that fondue and champagne look amazing. Congratulations ~ Stay warm & well!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love my trivia, and you've shared something I had no clue about when it comes to Looney Tunes and Jekyll and Hyde. Your picture jumped out and grabbed my attention right away, and made me think about lightness and darkness. Glad you enjoyed your class so much and that you learned a few new things, and your work looks fabulous. We'll end this with my favorite thing - cheese!!!!(lol) Hugs and lots more hugs. By the way, it's March here in NC it will be near 80 degrees!!!! Ugh..(lol)
ReplyDeleteWOW....still so much SNOW. I saw some flakes this winter. Actually we had two all day snow days but the ground was too warm and it would melt as fast as it hit the ground. Loving the drawings. I have been unable to talk with you much to see how the classes are going. You are really opening up your hidden talent. Great job.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for 7 wonderful years and I wish you many more to come. I loved the bugs and Hyde especially Bug's version of Hyde at the end. I don't remember seeing that cartoon, though I am certain I was around when it was produced. The look of concern or sadness on your wonderful face drawing is indicative of the times ... there is certainly reason for both feelings. I am staying inside as much as I can. Our country is being ravaged with the corona virus and at my age I have much to be concerned about. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Be safe, Rain ...

Happy anniversary! We are up to 18 in the summer!
ReplyDeleteLove your art. What a great drawing. You're super talented. Snow, we had some the other day but it was way small and then we got rain, rain, rain. But ... it's Spring and that's my jam. Happy Spring. Happy Moving.
ReplyDeleteLove your cartoon - so so cute. And the face you did so well, YOu are kind of inspiing me to pick up the colored pencils again. Sounds like a good anniversary and you must be so excited about your new house.
ReplyDeleteThe face is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe fondue looks amazing.
The snow is amazing. We have about the same amount here-- of pollen!
Your Bugs painting made a song pop into my head. Remember when Bugs is singing like, "La la la la...Abra ca pocus! Lal la la" and there is a bad guy trying to get him who keeps turning into random things instead? Ha ha
Thanks...sigh...your post was a breath of fresh air. I have been reading far too much coronanews all day. Are you guys staying home?
Ah yes the face has more character this week. Thanks for this weeks prompt
ReplyDeleteBe safe and healthy
