Plenty of room for everyone! The pack is doing so well. :) Here is a bird's eye view of the 3 big dogs snoozing from my (not so comfy) lounge chair on my little porch. I'm in the process of shopping for a better seating situation. I'm out here so much that I need a wee bit more comfort. I had a wonderful porch swing that we hung up, but after 9 summers of use, it broke last year.
Mr. Jack likes to stay indoors on the couch under a blanket. He'll scratch at the door once in a while to check on things, but overall he's an indoor dog!
This little fella is a spring peeper. He (with his many buddies) is responsible for the lovely "peep peep peep" sound we hear every spring. It's such a wonderful sound, and I often fall asleep to it! He is a "chorus frog" and when you hear his chirp it signals (without fail!) the beginning of spring, but we hear them all the way until the crickets take over in July.
The garden is progressing, I'm seeing more and more growth and it makes me happy! The weather, frankly sucks. It's not very hot though I'm grateful for sunshine. This weekend calls for rain and highs in the mid-teens, oh well - on the bright side, it'll keep the weekenders away. I still have high hopes for July and August showing me summer weather!!
Everyone looks so comfortable, including the peeper!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you today as I planted pumpkin seed in the garden. I like to plant late so that they get ripe in cool weather and hopefully don't rot as bad due to bugs. We have peepers here and I think I heard the first ones back in late march but it has to be a warm day for them to come out.
ReplyDeleteI've heard the peepers but I've never seen one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photo.
i'll gladly send you my weather! mid 90's with tropical humidity. i could just scream!
ReplyDeleteDo you have IKEA where you are? If so, I would suggest the POÄNG.
ReplyDeleteWe bought our first ever POÄNG about 10 years ago and it is still going strong now. I gave a couple of them to my parents around 8 years ago and they get a lot of use over there. I see them all the time in hotel rooms and vacation rentals all over the world, which means they can take a fair bit of abuse and still survive it.. :)
The one thing about the POÄNG is that it does tend to tilt back a little when you sit in it so you don't want to have them right up against a wall.
lovely fur babies and lovely little peeper :-)
ReplyDeleteOur weather is hot, hot hot. Another 90 degree day today, sun and rain due this weekend.
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty cozy out there! Glad they left you a little room to squeeze in... Our weather is the new normal - bizarre. All of May was cold and wet, now June is in the 90s with no rain. We're supposed to get rain today - let's hope!
ReplyDeleteCozy little nest for everyone!! Oh yes, if you are spending lots of time in any sort of furniture one must have comfort!
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest...I had to scroll right by the frog picture. I am horribly afraid of frogs! :) Its a weird thing with me....
I love crickets though and love listening to them on a summer night...they sing me to sleep! :)
We have had cool and cloudy for the past few days and quite a bit of rain. Its supposed to last through the weekend and then get back to more normal temps by next week but who knows!
I have a bunch of garden photos to send to you....I keep forgetting! Watch your inbox! :)
Have a happy Friday!
Interesting post filled with obvious warmth and soul. Warm greetings!
ReplyDeleteYou will most likely get summer weather and maybe even wish for spring. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt is still spring you know ;-)
We have been getting so much rain the last couple days and it feels so right and the earth seems to be drinking it up. Cool enough to start the wood stove up, just one load, no extra wood.
That is such a cute little frog!
Thanks Debra, we are all pretty comfy these days! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Gill :) I hope your pumpkins do well. Mine seem to have stalled. Only 1 of the 6 seeds I planted is growing. My plants don't seem to be growing anymore either. We really need some summer weather soon!
ReplyDeleteHi John :) Glad you were able to see a peeper! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce :) I know you aren't fond of the hot weather, but yes, I'll take yours anyday. I'm sick of November-rain weather in June!!
ReplyDeleteHi Snoskred :) We do have an IKEA in Montreal, but we hate going there, that's why we moved up north :) It's now nearly two and a half hours each way. I had a POANG chair for many years, the beige cushion one! Maybe we can find a knock off somewhere around here!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dawn! :)
ReplyDeleteKristina, I'm jealous of your weather. I do hope you get some rain though. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Susan :) I hope you get rain too! Funny though, I don't mind rainy days, but our summer really stalled this year and I'm craving hot humid weather. I hope we get some soon. The porch is super cozy. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Dianna! :)) My porch does feel like a nest!! We're going to head to Canadian Tire in the next few days, they have some loveseats on sale. I'm hoping one will suit my "sitting needs" so to speak! I really need to have a comfy chair because I was so sore after just being out there for an hour, not good! Sorry about the peeper! That was Alex holding it,not me! I'm not big on little insects and reptiles that have fast legs!!! I get the heebie jeebies too lol... I'm watching my inbox!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Blogoratti! :) Thanks for visiting! :) I think most of my posts are gushing with love and gratitude, at least that's what I try to convey because that's how I strive to live my life! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Tammie Lee! :) I guess you're right, it is still spring :) Though if I compare weather for the last decade, we should be in a heat wave right now! Oh gosh, I told Alex that I'll shiver under 5 blankets before we put the heat on again, but it's SO tempting. It just feels wrong to heat the house in mid June...it's chilly though.
ReplyDeleteI love to listen to the frogs in the spring. They get so loud sometimes but it is such a calming sound ... easy to fall asleep listening to it :)
ReplyDeleteI am currently sewing new covers for our deck chairs ... trying to pep thibgs uo a little ;) I would love to have a swing again. Ours was eaten by Doogen and Shep when they were still wee ones.
Our summer sucks too so far. Rain rain and more rain. Cold too. Tomorrow 15 c the 17th of june ... that is crazy.
Lets hooe together that july and august will make up for this
I hope you find some excellent new seating for the porch dear Rain!
ReplyDeletei too used to enjoy frog songs during rainy july and August back in my native town and believe me i miss them a lot here.
mr jack looks vry comfortable under the blanket .
wishing you lovely summers ahead my friend
Hi Nik :) The peepers do get loud, but you're right, they are very soothing. I love hearing them and would really miss them each spring. I may be shopping for a loveseat today. We were considering the swing again, but it really is hard to move up and down each day since it blocks the door. The porch is so small! It's raining but very muggy today.
ReplyDeleteHi Baili :) I hope to find the seating today! That would make my porch complete...at least I think so, I keep thinking of more things to add to it!! :) Too bad you can't hear the frogs anymore, they're really lovely. When we go for walks at night by the river, we sit all the dogs down and just listen to the bull frogs honking! :) Wishing you a nice summer too!
ReplyDeleteThat little tree frog is so cute. I had to smile at your comment about weekenders. Around here it's vacationers and snow birds. I know tourism is important for any area's economy, but those folks sure can be a nuisance sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Leigh, you can say that again, nuisance with a capital N. We've pretty much given up on this town, we don't get many good services except garbage collection. The streets are a mess, no dog control, no noise control...ugh, I could go on; so for me, tourism economy doesn't matter one stitch. But we chose to live here as our intermediate home, so we'll close the windows and make the best of it!! :)
ReplyDeletethe dogs are gorgeous and as an UN korean-certified linguist - i have tried to teach those spring peepers a million different words - all to no avail. they only know how to say "meep-meep-meep"!
ReplyDeletementioned you in a post today - go check it out. i hope it supports your aspirations and goals!
sending much love! your friend,
kymber
Hi Kymber :)) I don't think I'd even venture into trying to teach the peepers different languages, they're pretty set in their ways! :) Thanks for mentioning your blog post! :)
ReplyDeleteSo much coziness! Your dogs are all beautiful. And the little peeper is really cute!
