I feel the painting bug hitting me again. It happens every April when the weather gets nice enough for me to be outside all day! So today I painted our little girl Charlie. I was going to go for a black and white painting, but the heck with that, I LOVE blues and colour!
I set my easel up on the little porch this morning while all of the dogs kept me company. I love being outside. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain all day so I'll post some foodie stuff then. Oh, I just can't wait to see how muddy the driveway will be after a day of mild weather and rain, eek! I wonder if the driveway will eat my car?
Awww, Charlie! Loved seeing this painting. And I really admire how you don't let a less than spacious area hold you back from doing all you want on the porch. Is it warm enough that you can sit/work out there without a sweatshirt or jacket? Papa Pea and I just came back in from trying to take a little liquid libation break on the deck. We both were pretending it was so nice out but then looked at each other and said, "Are you cold out here? I am." And inside we came!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great painting Rain. You are very talented.
ReplyDeleteYou captured the essentials nicely without getting bogged down in details which often take away from a clean painting.
ReplyDeleteHow fun. It was 80 degrees here yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely picture and I adore the blues, it will look so good in a frame :D
ReplyDeletegreat painting! you are talented! happy easter!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mama Pea :)) Yesterday was warm enough that I was out in my pj's...have I mentioned I live a pajama life? :) Flannel pants and a t-shirt, it gets really hot in the sun, I actually had to put up an old curtain around the front of the porch so I wouldn't get burned! And that's funny, Alex and I have done that too. We sit out on the hammock then realize it's not warm enough yet! But we can't help our enthusiasm!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks TB :))
ReplyDeleteThanks Gill :)) I see what you mean, I used to do that with the oil painting, but then when I started watercolours, I found that too much detail ruined the painting. It just looked like a big soppy mess. I had to learn to stop while I was ahead.
ReplyDelete80 degrees Kristina?? Wow...I'm hoping for that weather soon!! I hope you made it out to your porch for a while too! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Yarrow! :) I have so many watercolours that need framing, it will be a big investment! We're looking for frames all the time at thrift shops and bazaars.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joyce! :) Happy Easter to you too!
ReplyDeleteYou're a talented artiste! I love the watercolour effects you got in the dark blue fur!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra! I just took a feather brush and tapped away, it gives a nice effect! :)
ReplyDeleteNice capture! You have great talent - I cannot draw a straight line!
ReplyDeleteWe reached about 17 Saturday - today we awoke to sun but now its raining and cloudy.
At least it isn't snow....yet!
Thanks Dianna! :) This is Charlie's personality, she often has her head down and looks up with those eyes, kind of sneaky and shy at the same time! :) I hope you don't get snow!
ReplyDeletePretty :)
ReplyDeleteYou really captured her! I love the blues (in all sense of the word...) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nik :))
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan :)) That's definitely Charlie's personality!
You are SO talented! What a gorgeous picture you painted of Charlie...she's beautiful and you captured her perfectly! Glad you're getting some sunshine!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sam! :) It's very encouraging to hear the great feedback! I really like how I did that painting! :))
