Mushroom Burgers
(Adapted from Taste of Home)
Makes 2 burgers
✎ Print Recipe
Ingredients
1 pack mushrooms finely chopped
2 green onions finely chopped
Dash olive oil
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp Worcestershire
2 dashes Frank's Red Hot Sauce
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 tbsp flour
1/8 tsp dried thyme
Dash S&P
Directions
1. In olive oil over high heat, cook the mushrooms/onions until they sweat out most of their moisture (about 5-7 minutes before they shrink too much and burn). Allow to cool a bit.
2. In a bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients together. Add the mushroom mix. Make 2 patties, place on a plate on wax paper and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate about an hour (this firms them up a bit).
3. In a pan over medium heat, melt butter or oil (your preference) and add burgers. Cook them 3-4 minutes per side until browned.
Note for me
Toppings: lettuce, Sliced Cheddar cheese, tomato, regular Dijon mustard (Maille).

ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy! These are very yummy. I've also added garlic scapes to them and that works well too! ☺
