Pizza Dough (enough to make 2 medium pizzas) - Here's my recipe for Thin Crust Pizza Dough!
Green olives
1 large egg
Grated Parmesan cheese
Marinara Sauce - Here's my recipe!
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 F, 190 C or gas mark 5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Divide the pizza dough in two halves. The first half will be the body and head of the spider. Use 3/4 of the dough to make a round ball for the body of the spider. Use the last 1/4 to make a round ball for the head of the spider.
3. The second half will be the spider legs. Divide this half into 8 pieces and roll them out to make the spider legs.
4. Assemble the spider on your baking sheet as shown in the photo.
5. Use sliced olives for the eyes; and the pimentos of the olives for the pincers. Press into the dough as shown in the photo.
6. Brush the entire spider with egg. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the legs.
7. Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden brown. Cool for 15 minutes.
8. Using a sharp knife, carve out the "body" of the spider to make a bowl and fill with Marinara sauce or the dip of your choice.
Note: During baking watch to make sure the spider doesn't burn. Cover the legs or the body with foil if it cooks quicker than the rest.
