January 23rd: Thursday Art Date With Rain - Chinese New Year

Fireworks mean celebrations are at hand!

January 23rd's theme for our art date is: Chinese New Year (please visit Rain's Garden on Thursday January 23rd to post your link!)

January 25th is the Chinese New Year. I am not Chinese, nor do I celebrate this day, but I've always found the holiday so colourful and beautiful. I love watching video of the celebrations, reading about the zodiac and seeing photos of all the fun festivities! 


According to the Chinese zodiac, 2020 is the year of the Rat. The Rat symbolizes vitality and intelligence.

I have no idea what I'll do with this theme! It should be interesting though! Here are some internet images to inspire you.

    My grandkids love rolling oranges and receiving light envelopes on Chinese New Year.
