Cauliflower Burgers
Cauliflower Burgers
(Makes 5-6 burgers)
Ingredients:
1 head of cauliflower
Dried Thyme
Salt and Pepper
Worcestershire Sauce
1 egg white
Breadcrumbs
Butter or oil (for cooking)
Directions:
1. Chop, rinse then boil your cauliflower for about 7 minutes until soft. Drain and set aside until warm to the touch.
2. When the cauliflower is warm to the touch, use a potato masher and mash it up. Add a dash of dried Thyme, some S&P to taste, a dash of Worcestershire and an egg white.
3. Mix everything up. Add breadcrumbs as needed to be able to make "hamburger" patties. Set aside on a plate or wax paper.
4. Heat some oil or butter in a frying pan. Place the cauliflower burgers in the pan and cook about 6 minutes on each side (on Medium Heat), until browned.
Serve as you would a hamburger!
Note: The wetter your cauliflower, the more likely it will fall apart during cooking. When it's cooling off, you could take some paper towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
