August 6th's theme for our art date is: Abstract (please visit Rain's Garden on Thursday August 6th to post your link!).
Abstract is a tricky style of art...it seems easy, but I personally find it very challenging. I think the part I find difficult is just letting myself go without any subject in mind for my piece. I try to think of a feeling, emotion or situation and let my paintbrush or pencil do the rest. It's all subjective interpretation. I haven't had too much experience doing this! I'm very interesting to see what you come up with!
For my Abstract Orange Cream painting (above)...I tried to imagine what it would look like inside of the blender when I made my orange ice cream sodas.
