Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art and Dinner Date! ππ
π¨For our π¨ Art Date π¨, today's optional prompt is Veggies! Please feel free to share any art you've created, we would love to see it! Bugs Bunny has had a great carrot harvest (I'm jealous!). Now he has to figure out how to preserve and cook them all!
⬆️⬆️ I'm continuing my art classes and I love them, mainly watercolour lessons. Here is a watercolour carrot study!
⬆️⬆️ Just over one year ago, we lost our husky girl Charlie. I've been wanting to make a Tribute Video for my dogs for a long time now, and I figured the time has come! πΆπ (It's mostly about the dogs, but I did mention the cats in there too!)
On the video front:
⬆️⬆️ For Rain Frances Art For Kids, I have How To Draw A Teapot! (Louise, I know this is KILLING YOU LOL!!!)
⬆️⬆️ For Rain's Kitchen and Garden, I'm sharing How To Make Overnight No Knead White Bread!
⬆️⬆️ I'm also showing How To Make Garlic Bread With Homemade Garlic Butter!

Love your veggie art and the food looks delicious, your veggie bowls are so creative!
ReplyDeleteI think you can buy carrots in all those colours these days!
ReplyDeletehm, Mr linky seem to have stoped before it began. How could that be???
ReplyDeleteRain, it says the linky widget expired two days ago?????
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to try your bread recipe! "Easy" is a great selling point and it looks yummy (especially with that garlic butter, another recipe I'll try :)
Good morning, Rain!
ReplyDeleteAm I early? I don't see the linky. Maybe I need to drink some coffee and I will then find it. lol The burrito bowl looks yummy. I love Mexican style foods. :p Garlic bread sounds really good. I'm going to check out your video for that! I wonder what recipe Bugs will use today with carrots. Carrot Cake would be a sweet treat! :) I'm going to include my link to my post here --> Fruit & Veggie Art until I can return later. Thanks for hosting the art date fun. Have a doodletastic day!
Thanks everyone! I had the wrong expiry date on the link widget but it's all fixed now! ♥
ReplyDeleteI want those carrots! π
ReplyDeleteNice idea to make the tortilla shells. I'm going to try that as a nice taco salad in a bowl is always yummy. And once I get the jam out of my printer I will print off that bread recipe. I don't seem to find the time to do any bread baking lately, but maybe I just need to prioritize making some. Have a super day and rest of the week. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHello Rain,
ReplyDeleteLove the bugs bunny with his big carrot harvest. The tribute to your dogs and cats is wonderful, our furbabies become family members and are missed dearly when they leave us. The burrito bowls look delicious and so does the bread.
Take care, have a great day!
Hey Rain,
ReplyDeleteI guess my first comment this morning got thrown into your Spam box since I added my direct link. You may want to look for it when you get a chance. I tried linking up but keep getting an error. I did a screen grab, so I'll send that to you via email.
A great post Sis! I am getting lazy these days and only want to make no knead bread. Check your email today.
ReplyDeleteHey the last comment was from me. I was signed into a different email. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour burrito bowls look delicious-what a fun idea-I will remember that for me-as I only eat the corn tortillas. enjoyed your art and videos hugs from the lake Kathy
ReplyDeleteLove your watercolour carrots!
ReplyDeleteI am commenting now, before I forget and another week speeds by!
ReplyDeleteThe carrots are lovely - such amazing different colors they come in (in real life too)!
Thanks for the bread post - I was noodling making bread this week, and this may have pushed me over the edge.
Ha, Bugs is in his element there, isn't he, dear Rain? :-DD
ReplyDeleteLong live the carrot! I also love carrots - and today I had a rice dish with different types of vegetables and Teriyaki Sauce - of course there were also carrots - but unfortunately there is not a single piece of vegetable to see in my post today. Only fruit with butterflies sitting on it. And feeders with sugar water for hummingbirds. And big cats, which are definitely not vegetable eaters ;-DDD But who knows, maybe there will be plants growing around the edges of the waterfalls that are suitable for salads? It will definitely be like that! :-D Your carrot picture is beautiful. And the idea of making a tribute video for your dogs, just heartwarming. There are so many things we can thank our animals for. Your tortilla "flowers" look very decorative and delicious, great idea!
ALL THE BEST from Austria and happy Thursday!

Rain, what a sweet tribute to your beloved pet dogs and cats.Pets do enrich our lives in may ways and although we are pet less now as apt dwellers, we each had pets in our childhood and adult years in other homes. All were as special and loved as your own. My favorite was my cat, Sambuca, and in childhood our pet collie, Laddie. Patrick had a Labrador named Boo and a cat named Misfit among other pets during the years.
ReplyDeleteYour watercolour carrots are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteTasty looking food. I will try the burrito bowls for sure.
Thank you for hosting, Rain.
Such a crop of beautiful carrots! Lucky Bugs
ReplyDelete❤️
ReplyDeleteRain, have you ever made parmesan cheese? I just saw a video of a guy opening a parmesan cheese wheel. It looked so good! Made me wonder how easy it is to make a cheese wheel.
ReplyDeleteTB - get bread baking, pronto!!! ☺ Actually next week's prompt is BREAD so it's an extra push for you!!
ReplyDeleteSandi - yes I made Parm before and it turned out really well. I aged it for a year actually and haven't made one since. I need to get back into my cheese making! ♥
Your carrots are gorgeous! They would make lovely note cards.
ReplyDeleteyour watercolour is pretty, purple carrots do exist (don't know if you know that). I loved watching your pet video, all very gentle souls (hello Jack, my favourite x). You have such a lot of delicious things to eat, I know you don't live near a supermarket you can just pop in, so I am thinking a lot of planning and storing goes on to keep the cupboards stocked. I hope soon your garden will be full of lovely fresh vegetables to eat and you will be able to get outside in some sunshine with your pets.
ReplyDeleteI do like bugs bunny with all those carrots, and I like your watercolour carrots.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
All the best Jan
I love your carrots, Rain! I hope you display some of your artwork. With those wonderful colors, these carrots would make me smile, I think every time I looked at them. I enjoyed the tribute to your dogs (and cats). The music you picked was perfect, and your dogs are and have been very fortunate to have you.
ReplyDeleteGreat drawing of Bugsy! Your watercolor study of carrots is vibrant and beautifully done. You are an inspiration, my talented friend!
ReplyDelete...yep, carrots aren't just orange these days. Thanks Rain for hosting the party, take care and stay well.
ReplyDeleteEverything in this post is exceptional. I am not worried about Bugs finding recipes ... he will eat them raw and they will be gone before he knows it :) Your art is perfection ... the carrots and the colors are beautiful. But, you know me, the best part of your post is your tribute to your fur babies ... a real tear jerker, as it reminds me of my lost pets and there have been many because, like you, am happiest when I a surrounded by animals and birds. I have grown a fondness for your pets as I get to know them through you. It's like they partially fill that empty space that Izzi,Chachi and Fonzi left in my life. We are down to two cats now ... Buffy and Diva. They are two females who do not get along, so we have to keep them separated. Anyway enough about my issues ... Loved your video and your art ... and, of course, the food. I am torn between wishing I lived close to you and could join you for dinner and knowing I would be a big round blob if I ate all that food ... don't know how you do it :) Until next week, Rain :)

Bug bunny is looking so cute.
ReplyDeleteA year?? π³
ReplyDeleteI do like carrots.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Great idea on the burrito cups -- I do make veggie taco salad and these cups would work great for that too. ... such a colorful bunch of carrots. I've bought the little rainbow carrots but have never seen the fully grown ones in all those colors. But I'd love to! Your painting looks good enough to eat.
